    • ITER right around the corner though, hopefully slingshots us into a post energy scarcity society.

Skeptical. They’ve been right around the corner like 15 years away from free energy for 47 years

That’s the running joke anyways, I will take whatever morsel of good news we can get on that front though. Cheap renewable energy is a big enough game changer that every tiny advancement is huge

          • We don’t really have time to wait, at least for the timeline they’ve been selling for the last few decades. Climate apocalypse is going to greet us with exponential speed.

            • Which is why we should've gotten on with the nuclear fission we already have.

Unfortunately the world is moving even further away. Germany I believe shut down all of theirs recently

I will never forgive Greenpeace for going so strongly against nuclear energy, and the fossil fuel industry and the former soviets for lying about the risks and funding some 'environmental groups'

                  • I also don’t know what to think about Bob Sagets cause of death.

I’d love to have an opinion from a pathologist/medical examiner

                    • Separatists claim Ukraine attacked them yesterday in video posted to the web….metadata shows the video was made Wednesday. Russia also doing nuclear missile launch exercises.

Russia fabricating invasion casus beli the same they did for Crimea, and Putin will do it again and again.

                      • Vindman says its inevitable that Putin goes after Zelensky/Kyiv and topples the government. He’s probably correct. IMO, we should have started whacking oligarch’s bank relationships, one by one, a long time ago. They are the only meaningful check on Putin’s grandiose ambitions.

                        • Zelensky gonna flee and govern in exile. I don’t blame him. Ukraine cannot stand up to Russia. They’ll invade and occupy some land, probably overreach. And the international community will have to show some teeth or else it’s Crimea 2.0.

                          • Like sanctioning their oil exports and putting pressure on anyone who might not like China.

Looking out, unfortunately this will probably cost Democrats, oil prices will rocket up and with it inflation and living expenses.

Also, hate to say it, but I think it’s escalating from here. If Russia invades and knows these sanctions are coming they may test NATO

                            • Nah. Russia wants Ukraine. Not nuclear holocaust. I mean, they can’t have Ukraine on principle. And yes, if they are allowed to take that country, they’ll inevitably threaten Poland and others. But don’t forget that they don’t have the economy to withstand prolonged crippling sanctions. They’re probably aiming for Kyiv in order to negotiate for Donbas … all while projecting strength to African dictators. Russia looks far less evil when you consider that they’re more opportunistic than strategic.
