What herr cheeto doesn't seem to get is that his support is coming from the solid 20% of assholes in this country that the rest of us can't fucking stand, and 20% of the country that are anti-abortion or taxes only voters.

Yeah, he is beloved by that crowd, unfortunately, in ingratiating himself to that crowd he royally pissed off the rest of the country, which is the majority of voters.

He is unique in that he didn't even pretend to try to govern to the desires of the entire electorate, only his base. It's never been tried before. And now he is seeing the results of that, as well as the rank incompetence of his administration (I don't think the two are separate).

Biden fucked up real bad today. Trump backed out of the debate unless it is in person. Big win for Biden.

So what does Biden do? He buckles under to the bully and agrees to move the debate back one week and do it in person.

Stupid, Stupid, Stupid. When you are ahead by double digits, you don't want to debate. You can only screw up and let him back in the contest. He should have basked in the glory of being willing to be there next week and calling Trump out for being a coward.

The fewer chances Biden has to make a mistake the better. And now he is going on national TV in front of 70 million.

I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt to the campaign that had a strategy it played to a tee in the primary to blow out the field even while everyone else was declaring it dead and that is sitting on a damned near double-digit lead with less than a month to election day. Biden's just about earned his JBB hall pass with everything he's accomplished to this point this cycle. They've even steadily grown his favorables and done the unthinkable by building a sizable lead with seniors and they might even win whites. These are things Democrats don't do, and although a lot of it is the public's distaste for Trump, the Biden campaign understands exactly how to play Trump's foil even better than Trump played Hillary's foil in 2016.

My suspicion is:

1.) They have oodles of data (really there's plenty in the public sphere too) that the more Trump makes an ass of himself on TV the more his electoral chances burn down. If he's insistent on shooting himself in the foot, don't take the gun away from him.

2.) In the cases of both Joe and Kamala, they've left some money on the table in terms of attack points. Specifically, Plouffe said last night the Trump campaign's refusal to say it will accept the election results is something they haven't fully paid for yet because they haven't been hammered hard enough on it yet.

3.) Frankly, I don't want these chicken shit, DubDub, mouth breathing, MAGA trolls to have any excuses for the smashing they're going to take in November.

My friend said that Biden believes Trump won’t do any additional debates and so Biden is trying to push him to totally back out and look like a coward. That would depress Trump votes and help the senate campaigns.

Plus you know the Chuck Todds of the world would try to hold Biden to a higher standard of "sportsmanship" if he didn't at least offer to accommodate Trump. Even though Trump is now filming steroid rage videos claiming he's been miraculously cured, he'd likely cry foul at how iddle biddie sickie POTUS wanted a few extra days to recover to make up for what he lost at Walter Reed and the big bad senile Biden refused.

No. Because he's a fucking moron who thinks the 46.1% of the popular vote he got in 2016 constitutes a "movement". Just like the brats in the primary who thought 30-35% of the Democratic primary electorate constituted a "movement". Put bluntly, the problem with Trump on this and a whole host of other items is that he believes his own bullshit, because it's a heckuva lot easier to buy your own bullshit than confront the difficulties that await in the land of reality, be they related to politics, public health, etc. etc.
