  • Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden's economic agenda would lead to 7 million more jobs created compared to President Donald Trump's, according to a new analysis from Moody's Analytics, a research firm.

The study, conducted by Mark Zandi and Bernard Yaros, evaluated the economy's trajectory under four different scenarios. But it found that a Democratic sweep where Biden is elected and Democrats recapture the Senate would lead to a significant increase in federal spending. They assume it would be largely "deficit-financed," meaning the government racks up a bigger federal debt.

The spending, though, wouldn't be a drag on overall growth. Instead, 18.6 million jobs would be created during Biden's first term, and lift the average American's household after-tax income by $4,800. That's 7 million more jobs compared to a scenario where Trump is reelected and Republicans hold onto the Senate. Household incomes largely stay the same should the GOP control both the legislative and executive branches.

Let's make sure we win the White House and Senate and retain the House, shall we?

      • Just out:

Joe Biden leads Donald Trump in Pennsylvania and Florida, according to new Times/Siena polls taken after the first debate.
Biden leads in Pennsylvania, 49 to 42 percent among likely voters. He leads in Florida, 47 to 42.

        Also...

In an analysis of interviews conducted yesterday, including in Arizona (where a poll is ongoing), there was modest evidence of a shift in Joe Biden's direction after Trump's COVID diagnosis. That said, one day of interviews is not nearly enough to reach any firm conclusions

        • Also...

It's just a subsample, so big MoEs here, but we found no evidence of the big Trump gains among Hispanic voters in Florida or in Miami-Dade County. Biden even narrowly led a (very small) sample of Cuban voters; they were R 47-28 by registration. Again, small samples but...

If Lean Tossup is correct and Hispanic and African American support for Biden snaps to Clinton's levels on Election Day, and that's not facts in evidence but it's plausible IMO, then we're looking at a potential electoral wipeout that will include Georgia and possibly Texas as well as closer battlegrounds like Arizona and Florida. Biden's doing so much better than Clinton with whites the only thing keeping Trump anywhere near afloat in some of these polls is the softness of Biden's numbers with POC.

          • Chris Christie... has the 'rona.

And lots of co-morbidities. I'd be worried about him.

Dana Bash reporting that Hicks, Trump, Stephen Miller, Bill Stepien, Chris Christie, among others were basically in a small conference room, unmasked, for days prepping for the debate.

Did Stephen Miller already previously get the 'rona from his wife? Because he's the only one on this list now that didn't get it.

            • Hahaha, this doctor is so smarmy. Press asks if Trump's been on oxygen.

"He wasn't on oxygen Thursday. He isn't on oxygen now. And no oxygen here with the team on Friday."

He was on oxygen at the White House yesterday. That's what I just heard, reading between the lines.

              • Someone zoomed into the photo of Trump getting off Marine One wearing a mask and you can see a small clear plastic tube around his ear.

Also, Wisc. Senator Ron Johnson (wholly owned by Putin) has COVID.

The doctor also said they’re 72 hours from diagnosis and 48 hours into treatment. That begs the question whether Trump knew he had COVID and proceeded with that Minnesota rally and New Jersey fundraiser anyway.

Indeed. The whole timeline, or "tik tok" as Meadows called it and refused to elaborate, is VERY problematic. The reporters at the hospital know that and were asking the right questions. The Doc obviously has been instructed to be in on the fix, but he had some lip slippage didn't he? Should we rule out Trump's knowing he was infected, but going anyway? Of course not.

Confirmation again, that you cannot believe 100% anything that comes from this WH.

                    • At this point, given everything that has just gone down, if I'm Biden I am demanding to know when Trump was informed that he had covid. Would not put it past Trump to go to the debate with full knowledge of his infection.

Even more evil, he arrived too late at the debate 12 hours earlier and wasn’t tested. They went on the “honor code.”

Begs the question if he knew before the debate.

                        • If he knew before the debate, don’t you think he woulda tried to kill Biden KGB style by shaking hands or coughing on him or at least approached him? Hopefully Biden would’ve waved him off.

BTW, where’s DubbyDubs? Early voting as many times as he can?

                          • I have a hard time believing Trump would've comported himself the way he did and answered some of the COVID questions the way he did while knowing he had tested positive.

It seems more likely they had the positive before or after the Minnesota rally and decided to push through with the rest of the day's schedule because Trump felt fine at that point and that they didn't start to treat it seriously until after he started to look fatigued and (I bet) had some difficulty breathing at the New Jersey fundraiser.

I could totally see them blowing off an asymptomatic positive and not getting scared until he started showing sickness.

                            • BREAKING: Pres. Trump was having trouble breathing and received supplemental oxygen on Friday at the White House after his oxygen levels dropped, sources tell @ABCNews.

                              Duh.

And now that we know Dr. Conley tried to get by with an easily detected lie of omission, we know any official medical information we receive from the White House moving forward is untrustworthy.

The press has an absolute and irrefutable obligation to the public to get to the bottom of this. Clearly the Trump people are angling to cover up the severity of his illness so that when he leaves the hospital he can lie to the public and say he had a low grade fever and the sniffles and it wasn't even as bad as the flu, or some such nonsense. That's not just bullshit politically with a month until a critical election, it's also going to get more of his mouthbreathing supporters infected and killed by not taking this seriously.

                              • Conversations w Republicans close to WH over last 12 hours indicate it’s been far more dire than WH has said. Before being taken to Walter Reed, Trump kept asking aides, “Am I going out like Stan Chera? Am I?” (Chera was Trump’s NYC friend who died of Covid in April)

                                Wow.
