Make no mistake, even when he gets rolled in Mi and PA, he’s not going quietly. I don’t know the law—do the US Marshalls drag his ass out of the WH if necessary?
Legally I believe they can, but he would never let it get that far for the optics alone. He'd bitch and moan up until the last possible second, flee out the side exit, then be back on Twitter talking up insurrection by the time Biden finished his inaugural address.

    • Part of the panic is that he knows he and most of his administration have legal liability and jail time coming their way. And the Democrats need to follow through on it this time. People need to go to jail.

Btw: my answer finally came out. If Barr succeeds in dropping the charges on Flynn, Flynn can be re-tried for EVERYTHING by the next AG. If I were Flynn, I’d be seriously thinking about sticking to my plea.

You'd have to think with the about face he did legal defense wise he got word from up the grapevine that he would be taken care of if he double down on Trump, which would also bring him up on corruption charges.

        • Trump vs Twitter

If no government system will guarantee a utopia, then our best choice is to look for the least exploitive one

          • Or he's gambling Trump gets re-elected.

Or he was promised a pardon, which Barr didn't want Trump to take the political hit for, so Barr switched to this and Flynn doesn't understand the difference in legal exposure between the two scenarios.

You know, I’ve been thinking about this and how many people are dreaming of seeing Trump and his family in orange jumpsuits. But I don’t think it’s going to happen. Think about how deferential the Obama administration was and how they always tried to take the high road and play by the rules ... to a fault (that was easily exploited by nihilistic Republicans like Moscow Mitch).

These ain’t the guys who are gonna set the precedent of trying and convicting a president as soon as he’s out of office. I hope I’m wrong and I expect a groundswell of support for prosecuting the Trump crime family (my voice among them). But I’m afraid a centrist president with bigger issues to deal with won’t risk the optics of “payback.”

What if the Republican Party goes into full civil war between the Establishment/FoxNews group and the Alt-Right/Trump/OANN group? If that happens, I could imagine the Establishment/FoxNews crowd quietly backing the Biden Administration prosecuting the abuses of the Alt-Right/Trump/OANN crowd. Temporary alliance between the two on this one set of issues.

He could do the more manageable option of saying he will only instruct his DOJ to hunt down the leads the Whistleblowers pointed out.

There's already a system in place for them so it harder to paint following those down as political as opposed to dragging every single Trump Administration member before a sub-committee one after another.

Yep. You think he won’t turn on Trump the second the Trump coalition ceases to be viable electorally?

Trump and the alt-right will want to nominate Trump Jr. in 2024. McConnell and the establishment won’t, and the fastest way to dispose of the Trumps and the alt-right is to let Biden’s AG start locking them up for their corruption.

                      • There were rumors over the weekend and apparently the cat is now out of the bag: Trump essentially shit canned his campaign manager, Brad Parscale, after being shown he’s trailing badly in the swing states and reports have surfaced that Parscale has basically bilked the campaign for millions.

Trump’s campaign has pinned a lot of hope on the idea Parscale has spent Trump’s millions building some kind of unstoppable digital campaign tool. But, there’s a high likelihood Paracale’s just a bullshit artist who was robbing Trump blind.

                        • Trump's newly promoted 2020 campaign chief of staff was arrested in Oklahoma in 2016 and charged with conspiracy to violate state election laws after police seized her then-boyfriend's phone in a cocaine bust, @dsamuelsohn and @johnjcook report

                          Delightful.

                          • But but wasn't Parscale supposed to activate the 2020 Death Star soon??!!

Oh, tomorrow Trump plans to issue an executive order (hey, remember when Obama tried to use those and they were OMGZ TYRRANY?!) aimed at social media companies. The FCC wasn't even briefed about this beforehand, likely because even they have gone on record saying they want no part of policing them. Regulation bad, I thought?

Yep, and it’s every bit as effective as hydroxychloriquine.

IOW, Parscale conned a con artist to the tune of enough money to buy a beachfront condo, a yacht, and a Ferrari. Literally.

I probably shouldn’t be gloating because it’s probably bad news if Trump actually gets a competent campaign manager who is as interested in winning as he is stealing from the campaign coffers.
