Trump threatens NC to pull the Republican National Convention if they do not lessen the social distancing restrictions. Not sure what other state/city would agree to host it and ignore the guidelines, but that's Donny the Bully for you. Charlotte was the only city to submit a bid for the convention, and that was BEFORE the pandemic. So, no, there’s not another major city on America that wants to host the RNC.

Part of me would be perfectly fine with 20,000+ Republican delegates running up a 70% infection rate because their tribal politics won’t allow for masks, distancing, etc. But then I realize these buffoons will go home and super spread across the whole damned United States.

DeSantis is already in hot water with how he has been handling the response in the state. Him losing his poll-tax appeal so now former felons can vote hurts his chances at re-election even further so I can see him trying to play it safe and not giving Trump the space he wants, especially knowing Trump will throw him under the bus if it leads to a spike in cases(Example: Trump throwing Kemp in Georgia under the bus for doing exactly what Trump said to do).

Mississippi and Alabama would be the "safest" places to do it politically. Population wise somewhere like Montana or a Dakota would be best as yes the people will gather in a crowd to watch the circus but when they go back to their homes they're so spread out it will be a de-facto quarantine.

You realize the leader of the country is one of those not wearing masks, right? I mean, take away him not getting any supplies together and declaring it a hoax for those first months, he is throwing a fit they may not be able to have 20000 people in a room for his convention.
