That Houston-Tampa series is going to have some amazing pitching. It's going to take a pretty big upset, but this team has me fired up and believing they have a chance.

After getting Cy Young’d by two 20 game winners, the measley $$ Rays club the Stros in to submission. Hopefully, Cash can bullpen the F out of them tomorrow. This club has new life and feels some big time momentum.

The difference -- and it's significant -- is that Verlander is 36 and started on three days' rest. Cole is 29 and will have his usual four days' rest between starts.

On the plus side for the Rays, they should have confidence in their bats going into tomorrow's game. But if Cole is in control of all of his pitches it's a moot point.

Second time we'll be seeing him so hopefully we've figured him out

Yup. That was in the back of my mind when I said I don't think he will get that many punch outs. Nevertheless, Morton needs to continue to be salty (I think he will) and the Rays bats need timely, RISP hitting.

Tough ending, but Gerrit Cole is in a different universe from any other pitcher in baseball right now. Glasnow was tipping pitches in the first, but he is going to be incredible going forward. No team in baseball has a brighter future than the Rays. A young core that is controllable for several years, the top prospect (Wander Franco) and farm system in the minors that is continuing to make its way up to the majors. Hopefully the Bolts and the Rays get it done in 2020.

An altogether gallant season. So cool to watch Choi, Adames, d’Arneau, Meadows, et al. grow and excel as the season progressed Yes, the future is very bright for this group. And IMO, Cash is manager of the year.
