It helps that every other team in the AL is tailing off except maybe Houston. The playoffs are basically a series of coin flips and they don’t correspond to anything that happens in the regular season, but the Rays are in better shape than the rest right now.

To back up, big picture, as far as ownership, Naimoli was like a minor high Great Dane piece of pucky. By comparison, Sternberg is a 2 foot high pile of elephant shit. I get why folks, even those living in TB, could give a rats ass about the Rays. But, from a pure team sports perspective, the team has always been intriguing…and recently, with a $61M payroll, so very impressive. (I’ll confess to being an original split season STH in 1998.).
And what I relish, as much as anything, is that they scare the crap out of the $200M teams. Priceless."Who are white supremacists?" Proud Boys. "Well I tell the Proud Boys to stand back, and stand by"

And the Rays post their team record 100th win today, in delightfully dusting the Yankmees. How Lowe generates such power from that swing..it's a thing of beauty. No doubt about Zunino though--he's a masher. Keep rolling boys, all the way to LA.

All of this without probable Cy Young finalist Glassnow. Somehow the team doesn’t fold after that, but got strongerIf no government system will guarantee a utopia, then our best choice is to look for the least exploitive one

The former Ray Eovaldi was stout last night. I still like the Rays chances, even with two rookie starters taking games 1 and 2. William Hill has Rays -150 to win the series. Got slip today...Rays 5.5-1 to win the World Series.Last edited by Puckhead; 10-07-2021, 03:28 PM."Who are white supremacists?" Proud Boys. "Well I tell the Proud Boys to stand back, and stand by"

Lowe and KK are MIA. And the pitching was atrocious—zero to 14 in 24 hours?? But, nothing like getting smacked upside the head with a piece of ash in order to focus and get back on track."Who are white supremacists?" Proud Boys. "Well I tell the Proud Boys to stand back, and stand by"

I still like the Rays chances, but the pitching was always going to be a pretty big question mark heading into the playoffs. The starters are all essentially rookies, and a lot of the bullpen guys (McHugh, Kittredge, etc...) have been worked a ton.
