The Phillies / Yankee game is also postponed.

      • 4 more Marlins test positive today.

        • I think I heard that the visiting clubhouse attendant in Philadelphia tested positive. Whether he was was the one that spread it through the Marlins team is to be decided. But I also heard that the Washington Nationals have taken a vote about going to play in Miami later this week and the majority voted no. So MLB will have to make some hard decisions very soon to determine whether the season will play out or not.

          • The more damning thing to me is the Marlins' knew they had positive tests, took a team vote, then asked the Phillies and they AGREED TO PLAY!

            • Manfred was too busy coming up with dumb new rules to implement instead of creating an actual strategy in case a major outbreak happened with a team. Marlins-Phillies should have never been played on Sunday after word of an outbreak got out. That should of been a MLB decision.

              • I don't understand how MLBPA agreed to play without any definitive rules on what to do if there were positive cases. Instead they were more busy whining about how much they get paid instead of caring about the safety of their own members!

                • Baseball is in trouble. The Marlins have postponed their next 6 games - through Sunday after 4 more players tested positive. That’s 15 total.

The next 3 games between the Yankees and Phillies have also been postponed. The Yankees will instead go to Baltimore and play the Orioles on Wednesday and Thursday to allow more “schedule flexibility” moving forwards.

That puts the football season in jeopardy too I would think.

                  • Well it really just means football needs to come up with a smarter idea than baseball.

Now whether you trust the NFL to actually do that? I'm certainly not holding my breath.

Jerry Jones will figure it out.

                        • I'm not sure football would be more difficult. Playing one game a week instead of the 7 games that baseball has should make it easier. A lot will depend on how responsible the players are. There are some unconfirmed rumors that some Marlins players may have left their hotel in Atlanta after their exhibition games last week and went to a club/bar.

They are still going to be practicing in groups throughout the week. The problem is that the players are going to be living at home and Will be outside in the community. They are going to be exposed whereas in the NBA and NHL they are living in isolation.

                            • It doesn’t help that athletes are ... NEWSFLASH ... not very bright. The Rays celebrated a walk-off win on Sunday as if there was no such thing as Covid. Hugging, high fiving, pouring water on a players head, and shouting at and around each other (this was probably the most dangerous thing they did). And so many of them don’t wear masks even when they sit right next to each other and talk.

We can’t do this. Americans are too dumb.

This is ridiculous. Players didn't want a bubble though so this is what they get.
