No shame in losing to an obviously superior team. Taking them to game 5 was excellent.

I've gotta pull for the Nats. Dave Martinez as the skipper--he paid his dues and learned so much under Madden. And how about Rocco? Takes the Brewers to the playoffs. You lament all the talent that has left the Rays, but still I'm proud of all the guys that have gone on to excel."Who are white supremacists?" Proud Boys. So, the Red Sox resign Generational talent Mookie Betts but.... he is available.
QUOTE
What the Red Sox want for Mookie Betts: While it doesn’t appear that the Red Sox are on the verge of trading star outfielder Mookie Betts, there is reportedly an established asking price.
According to ESPN baseball insider Buster Olney, Red Sox chief of baseball operations Chaim Bloom has outlined what he wants from any team trying to trade for the 27-year-old Betts, who is heading into the final year of his contract.
A prerequisite for any trade, as Olney noted, is that a team be willing to take David Price (or Nathan Eovaldi) in the deal along with most, if not all, of the player’s salary ($96 million in Price’s case). That goes along with paying Betts the $27 million he’s owed in 2020.
On top of that, Boston also wants “two high-end prospects to front the deal.”
“It may be that the Red Sox never find the kind of offer they seek,” added Olney. “But Bloom has months to let this play out: Rival execs believe that Betts’s trade value really won’t drop between now and the July 31 trade deadline.”

Pull the trigger and you can get Price back with his cement shoes contract as well. Obviously the Red Sox are shedding salary, and alot of it.
But, Betts would be a great fit for the Rays, the question is do you have the high level prospects to give up and....can you take on that kind of salary? Last, does Betts want to play in Tampa?
To trade, my guess some team like the LA Dodgers get him. Free agency, maaaayybbeee the Yankees. Going to be big bucks.Last edited by gphockey; 01-21-2020, 02:01 PM.

Reeeeealllly makes you wonder if they were cheating against the Rays when they eliminated us.If no government system will guarantee a utopia, then our best choice is to look for the least exploitive one

Some players should be held accountable but I would guess the players union might be tough to overcome.
They are saying up here the league knew 3 years ago. Why not take action then?

Because back then it was the precious Red Sox using Apple watches. Manfred gave them a cuddly little warning and sent an email to the GMs of every team. That email, and the fact that it did not specifically require teams to inform their players, is the legal basis for the union not allowing MLB to punish players. Both sides know those punishments would not stand up in court.“Could I had posted cite a site?” — WWW dot Trump makes you dumb dot RU
