        Day 1 one was... eventful.

About to head down for Day 2. Plenty of decent pickups still available.

              Why.

Why Masin when McKeown and Daughtery are still on the board?

For all the talk about defensemen not being that great in this draft we sure are stocking up on them. Can't complain a couple of physical two way defensemen though.

Yzerman is hardly ever going to take the guy you want or expect. He gets who he wants no matter where in the draft he may be ranked. It is his rankings that matters. If he passes up McKeown three times, there is a reason for it. I trust SY. He isn't perfect, but he is damn near.

So we traded our 2 5th rounders to move up for Thomas?

Nothing overly exciting in the draft so far for the bolts, and I don't meant that it a bad way since that was pretty much to be expected with the draft class this year. I'd figured they'd have chosen a forward with some size during the second round over the second defenseman but defensive depth was a pretty clear need. Plus it's hard to imagine many of the defensemen in this class becoming great so it helps your odds I guess to draft more and hope a couple pan out.
