That was quite a collapse, epic in fact. Vasi is not himself, but the changes on defense are not helping either. Forwards need to come back and help more. But so many tip ins and deflections last night, not sure any goalie could have stopped those.

That roughing call at the end of the 2nd was BS. If that was worth 2 minutes then the hit on Point in game 2 certainly was 4 or 5 minutes.

Hags and Ace stirred the drink tonite. I don’t know what the fancy stats were, but when those two were on the ice, it tilted . BTW, Our boy Yanni Gourde has the big squid one game away from dispatching the snowmen. Who’d a thunk it.

Well, that one could have gone either way. Might have been easier if the refs would have called obvious penalties like the high stick at the end of the game but the fix was in.

It’s fine. They need five months off, and also a new fourth line but mostly five months off. And I can’t hear what anyone says because I got my two Stanley Cup rings plugging my ears.

I expected us to lose to Toronto this year based on how terrible we were in the last month and a half, but the series didn't go at all the way I was expecting. We looked like the better team almost every game. If Vasy doesn't have the worst series I've seen him play, Toronto might have gone down in 5. I don't think they short circuited another trip to the finals for us though, and I'm not too broken up about a long offseason either. Perbix and Raddysh are reasons to be optimistic for the blueline. It's amazing how well they played against a skilled offensive team in the post season. I'm hoping we have an entirely new 4th line next year, and let's hope Jeannot in year 2 makes as big a leap as Hagel did.

Lightning do not have to hang their heads after this game. They played very well. Nothing else matters unless you win the Cup for this group. Actually feel Lightning played better against Toronto this year than last. The group and the coaching staff really need a reset and this early exit should help. The bar for the Lightning has been high for so long mentally they’re drained. Off season and trade deadline acquisitions this year just didn’t pan out. But the emergence of Raddysh and Perbix and the play of Syracuse indicates the pipeline is not dry. The D is set for next year except for replacing Cole. Obviously they will need a backup goalie. Colton and Jeannot are RFAs and Killorn is UFA but will be 34 when next season starts. 4th line needs a complete retooling. Jeannot certainly should help next year and easily could replace Maroon as the heavy. Maroon is signed for another year though.
