Yeah, Ron Francis screwed the pooch. Overplayed his hand and came up nearly empty. Although, much of the credit/blame is with the rest of the league’s GMs, some of whom screwed themselves in the Vegas draft.

Looks like Toronto and Carolina are essentially trading goaltenders.

I can't keep up with this today, so:

A whole bunch of guys signed new contracts with new (or old) teams.
Mostly for more money and/or more term than they are worth.

                Have fun.

Coleman to Calgary. $4.9M/year for 6 years.

I am honestly glad we didn't give him that deal.

Totally agree. You are always on it. Endless transactions and too much money for many players. Winning a Stanley Cup really inflated the salaries of Shattenkirk and now Goodrow, Coleman and Savard.

Savard contract actually seems pretty reasonable.

The term on many of these deals alarming but not surprised as in 5 years many of the GMs will be gone.

Just remember we're only good because of salary cap cheating, not because every other teams GMs are morons who constantly wreck their cap for subpar players.

I’m glad Savard got some decent money. Happy he and Ceddy get to go play for da home team. Not looking forward to facing them in Montreal.
