  • Sure appears Zito not going to hire Brunette.

    • What a choke by the Avs. Up 3-0 at home in a series clincher and lose it. Overrated contender.

      • That was shocking. Can blame MacK with his hatty, tho I’m sure there’s enough blame to go around. Who knows, maybe we’ll get Edmonton in the Cup final?

Would you hire him? Guy looked like a deer in the headlights.

        • All four goalies playing in the West right now are pretty sus. Really bodes well if the Lightning get that far.

Just looking at the series ahead, this is one of the big reasons why I'd rather face the Canes and not Shersterkin.

            • Pressure of Stanley Cup playoffs certainly separates the real contenders from the pretenders. St . Louis has won before and if they upset Colorado they will be a threat. Really believe the mental part of these playoffs is the separator. Commitment has to be there and shot blocking leads the list. After 11 games Edmonton and Lightning lead the pack at 187 and 184. Rangers and Blues near the top but Calgary, Colorado and Florida far down the list.

I think Carolina is throttling themselves in that series and trying to win every game 2-1. Shesterkin gave up 25 goals in the Penguins series, he is far from invincible.

                • Until proven otherwise Vasilevskiy is the best goalie in the NHL particularly in the playoffs. Rest can only make him better.

He’s not, but he’s a Hart trophy candidate for a reason. I really don’t wanna run into a goalie who suddenly gets hot.

There are other reasons I’d prefer not to play the Rags either

                      Their coach? Their fans? Both?

                      • Their fans would definitely be annoying. Just like in 2015.

                          • The canes’ power play has sucked almost as bad as Florida, Svechnikov and Trochek are pointless in the second round, Raanta gets hurt if you breathe hard on him, and Andersson would be coming back very cold if they turned to him in Rd3. Plus we beat ‘em last year, and so far in this year’s playoffs they can’t win without home ice and last change advantage. They’re fast and structurally committed to defense, but I don’t feel terribly threatened by them.

                            Many reasons I’d prefer Carolina.

                            • Carolina doesn’t really worry me either. They just look like a case of fake it til you make it. We have enough sample size now. If they were really committed to being a tough defensive playoff team, they would not be 7-0 at home and 0-5 on the road.

                              • We were 3-0 in Carolina last year so their home record doesn't scare me one bit.
