Three out of the four projectors say Gourde will be the expansion selection off the Lightning, with the lone difference being Cernak for the other one.

I get the feeling nbc does not have the best and brightest working for them at this point.

Y’all are forgetting one of the most basic principles in sports … always bet on youth. Zero chance Gourde is ahead of Cirelli on JBB’s pecking order. Not to disparage Gordo, whom I love, but Tony is younger, cheaper, bigger and has more upside.

I had to set him straight that we wouldn’t be going 7-3-1

He overrates Palat, which is weird because I think we underrate him

                    • The move we've all been waiting for:

Signing Freddy Claesson to a one year, two-way extension.

                      • If we go 4-4-1, my guess is Killorn gets taken. He's got the best size, best contact and has been the best offensively the last two years and in the playoffs (out of Killorn, Palat, and Gourde). If they take Palat, they only have him for 1 year before he's a UFA.

I hope they take Gourde. I like Gourde a lot, but he has the worst contact, the smallest size, and we don't know how much of his success the last couple years depending on Goodrow and Coleman, but I'm guessing it was significant. And we have plenty of centers.

                        • Barclay Goodrow (pending UFA) traded to NYR for a 7th round pick in 2022.

                          • Chris Johnston:
Of note with #NYR acquiring pending UFA Barclay Goodrow's negotiating rights: There's chatter that some teams are prepared to offer him a six-year deal if he hits the open market on July 28.

                            • Wouldn't surprise me if Goodrow gets a similar deal to what Tanev got from Pittsburgh a few years ago (6 years at $3.5AAV). Obviously would have been way too rich of a deal for the bolts.

                              • I guess the question now becomes who did we expose, and what (if any) deal did we make make with Seattle.
